Confirmation Classes
Students participate in Confirmation Class with Pastor Krause during grades 7 and 8.  Eighth grade students are confirmed on Mother's Day each year.  Classes are held Wednesday evenings during the school year following a family-style dinner served by the church.  Contact Pastor Krause for more details!
News and Events
We welcome into our midst new friends, new faces and more babies!  Owen Poole, infant son of Christa and Jeremy Poole was welcomed into his church family on June 28 during his baptismal affirmation.  We rejoice with Craig and Rachel Buss, new friends of Abiding Shepherd, as they celebrate the baptism of their third son, Nash.  Friends Gino and Jenifer Siragusa, brought their son, Tristan, before God to be born again through baptism.  God's blessings to these families!
Church Picnic
A great day with plenty of sunshine - what could be better?!  About 50 friends shared food and pleasant weather at the Freund's pond for the annual church picnic.
Ladies' Night Out
Almost 30 women gathered at 1855 Restaurant in Cottage Grove.  Leslie Wren spoke briefly about her episode with breat cancer with questions from other women being answered in a direct, informative way.  Some women came for the first time and really enjoyed the time to chat.
Spring Clean Up
On May 1, a beautiful day for working outdoors brought out friends and members of ASLC to clean up and beautify our grounds for spring. The work was done throughout the morning and completed by noon. THANK YOU to all who came out to help in many different ways.

Confirmation Students
On May 9 we welcomed into membership six new confirmands who completed their studies this year. The confirmands are as shown in the picture. Front row L-R: Katie Ferge (daughter of Doug and Patti), Becca Riley (daughter of Bruce and Cathy) and Kaley Heiman (daughter of Joe and Lynn). Back row L-R: Jordan Benson (son of Brad and Kristi), Mark Nelson (son of Mark and Kim) and Jaden Gault (son of Matt and Kari).
Christmas for Kids
We had about 70 kids register this year, with 2/3 from the community.  With three groups constantly rotating throughout our church facility each December Saturday morning before Christmas, the WHOLE building was BUZZING about the birth of Jesus.  Some were crafting, others were singing, a group was being read to, others were painting ceramics for a growing nativity set, and others snacking and watching Christmas videos. It was awesome.  The crowning glory of the month was our Grand Finale program where guests and children enjoyed an hour of singing and telling the story of a Savior born.
